For more "Whee!" in your writing, book a FREE Pathfinder Coaching session

Dear Friends,

Are you writing a book? Is the process a bit like sliding down a hill shouting "Whee!" while leaves fly out behind you? Are the puzzle pieces coming together perfectly? Have you got thirty possible agents picked out, along with customized query letters you know will knock their socks off?

Or is that only true on some days? On other days, you fight an unwieldy monster and wonder why you started this process in the first place. Or you just "don't have time" for your book any more and it sits in your computer, a once-upon-a-time project you used to do.

Would you like to have more "Whee!" and less "Argh!" or "Meh?"

Well, it turns out that "Whee!" is what I do.

I help writers who feel stuck on a project to develop a roadmap, unleash their creative flow, and reignite their passion for their work.

If that's what you're longing for, we should talk.

I am in a period of opening a few coaching spots for clients who are a fit for my year-long program. To that end, I am once again offering free 90-minute "Pathfinder" sessions to writers who would like to explore possibilities.

You'll come away with:

*The #1 reason you're stuck and what will propel you forward

*New insights on finding your tribe of readers

* The 3 strongest qualities of your writing

* Renewed vision for your writing

* A written list of your 5 next steps

The best candidates for my program have a novel or memoir in progress and a willingness to dig deep and work hard. The program is not rigid--it is customized to your needs as a writer and a human. But those who make the most progress are open to revision, and put consistent time into honing their craft. (And "seasons of consistency" count, too. You're not an automaton.)

Interested? Grab a Pathfinder session here!

Talk to you soon!

Love,

Katherine

PS In order to bust through that hesitancy creatives sometimes suffer from, I'm going to sweeten the pot. When people book a Pathfinder, I always ask them to send me the first 1250 words of their book (that's around five pages.) If you book your Pathfinder by Friday, November 24, I'll read TEN pages--that is to say 2500 words of your book.

Storytelling is born in the body. Our ancestors knew this when they donned costumes and danced around the fire. Actors know it. And writers? We know it the first time our characters move us: whether to tears, to rage, or to laughing out loud. We experience it in our body. At Epicwrite, writers explore the mind-body connection through movement, mindfulness, ritual, and the actor’s art. And we study the alchemy of wordcraft—those elements of plotting, characterization, description, and scene...

This Saturday, February 10 is my birthday and we're celebrating with hearts! We'll make some valentines with special, historic paper, and we'll read The Legend of the Valentine. We'll also use sales of the book to raise funds for Hand in Hand Kids, an Everett organization helping to provide a softer landing for foster children. All this takes place from 1:00-3:00 PM at Artisans Books & Coffee, a fabulous local shop I just discovered that supports artists and authors. The Legend of the...

white wooden book shelf in library

Hi friends, I've been a bit "hermitty" this past little while, working on my book and grinning at my new granddaughter. But I have decided to venture out into the wilds of my local library (Evergreen in Everett) and offer a free workshop. This is in honor of National Novel Writing Month, but you are welcome whether or not you are participating in that madness. I scheduled it for after school so teen writers can come, so bring them along, and call up all your homeschooling friends, as well!...
